The 105-series coupé line — Giulia Sprint GT, GTV, GT Junior — is one of Alfa Romeo's most complete designs: a tight, four-seat 2+2 body over a twin-cam four-cylinder engine and genuinely balanced chassis. The Junior variants used smaller-capacity versions of that engine (originally 1.3 litres, later a 1.6) aimed at markets and buyers where displacement-based taxation or licensing made the full-size GTV less attractive.

Despite the 'junior' badge, the underlying car — chassis, brakes, five-speed gearbox on later cars — is shared with its bigger-engined siblings, which is exactly why the model has such a strong following today: the driving experience is close to a full GTV at a smaller-engine price point, in one of the cleanest coupé shapes Bertone and Giugiaro produced for Alfa Romeo.
