How buying works

Browse and search

Browse the full inventory or a specific marque page, and filter by brand, model, price, location and more. Create an account to save cars to a watchlist or set up a search alert so you're notified when a matching car is listed.

ITALSPEC lists — it doesn't sell

Every car is listed by its private owner or by a dealer; ITALSPEC itself never owns, buys or sells the vehicles shown on the site. When you contact a seller through a listing, you're contacting the private seller or dealer directly — not ITALSPEC.

Contacting a seller

Each listing shows whether the seller is a private owner or a verified dealer, along with its location and asking price (or "price on request" where the seller prefers to discuss price directly). Use the contact options on the listing to reach the seller and arrange next steps — questions, viewing, inspection and, ultimately, the sale itself all happen directly between you and them.

Before you commit to a car

ITALSPEC reviews listings for accuracy and completeness before publishing, and dealer profiles are verified as real businesses (see what verification means). That said, ITALSPEC does not inspect vehicles in person or verify service history and ownership documents. Before you buy:

  • See the car in person, or arrange an independent inspection.
  • Review the car's documentation and history directly with the seller.
  • Confirm current asking prices and availability with the seller — listing prices reflect what the seller is asking, not a verified sale price.

Frequently asked questions

How do I contact a seller?+

Use the "Contact seller" button on any listing to send an inquiry directly — for dealers you can also reveal their phone number to call. ITALSPEC passes your message straight to the seller or dealer; there's no added step or delay on our side.

Does ITALSPEC inspect cars before they're listed?+

No. ITALSPEC reviews listings for accuracy and completeness before publishing them, but does not carry out an in-person mechanical inspection. For any car you're seriously considering, we recommend arranging an independent inspection or a viewing with the seller before committing.

What does the "Verified dealer" badge mean?+

It means we've researched the dealer's business — registration, public website, reputation — and spoken with them directly before approving their profile. It is not a guarantee about any individual vehicle's condition or history; see our dealer verification page for the full process.

Does ITALSPEC charge a commission or handle payment?+

No. ITALSPEC is a listing platform, not a broker — sellers pay a flat listing fee, and price negotiation and payment happen directly between you and the seller. ITALSPEC is never party to the sale itself.

Can I negotiate the price shown on the listing?+

Yes. The listed price is set by the seller, and like most private and dealer car sales, it's a starting point for direct negotiation once you're in contact with them.
