Ferrari 348 GTS for sale

Launched in 1989 with pop-up headlights and a more angular, 'Testarossa-mirroring' side-strake design, the 348 replaced the long-running 328 with a longitudinally mounted V8 (rather than the 308/328's transverse layout) and a chassis using structural elements borrowed from Ferrari's F1 engineering group — a first for a Ferrari road car.

The GTS's targa roof and the visual link to the contemporary Testarossa give it real presence, and the 3.4-litre V8 pushed performance meaningfully ahead of the 328 it replaced. As the final Ferrari V8 developed before the company's late-1990s handling overhaul on the F355, the 348 marks the end of an era of Ferrari's more raw, analogue V8 cars.
